An entertaining combination of Acoustic guitar, harmonies, melodies, singer songwriter songs, fingerstyle guitar and mandolin, with origins in folk, roots, ballads and blues.

“…It’s a great concept, works with beautiful informality, they are all not only wonderful musicians, but also highly entertaining raconteurs…”

Swindon welcomes Dorset Guitarist for a Jubilee Live Music Event

June 13th, 2012

A lively set on Sunday 3 June afternoon, with a listening audience who bought lots of albums; what could be a better way to spend time for a musician like Pete Christie, who works hard to deliver a balanced singer-songwriter set of folk, blues, rock and ballads.

Pete Christie performs his singer songwriter set on his Lowden guitar in Swindon at The Beehive Pub

The audience showed lots of appreciation for the varied original anglicana set and a few covers, done in Pete’s unique acoustic fingerstyle technique. One such song is the ‘Ballad Of Lucy Jordan’, originally recorded by Dr. Hook and popularised by Marianne Faithfull. Pete Christie has been gaining some great compliments for this exciting adaptation which incorporates some dynamic looping and echo effects.

Pete is well known for performing a longer set and today was no exception, especially as some people had been watching the Jubilee celebrations.

Pete Christie is back again on Sunday, October 14th 2012 at 3pm.

Support comes from local singer/songwriter, Pete Christie ensuring that this will be an evening of top quality songs and performance
Friends Of The Earth believe in encouraging new growth and are pleased to introduce Jasmine Newsome-Stone to complete the line up for a great, lineup.

Quote from Sean’s website

Bob Harris Radio 2 programme; Bob has played two tracks from the album. Folk legend Mike Harding played a track and  raved about the album on Facebook & Twitter, writing ‘My main listen today – Springsteen and Taylor are cheering my day’ … nice to be put in the same sentence as ‘The Boss’.

Derrin Nauendorf and Pete Christie at Mr Kyps Poole Dorset UK

April 9th, 2012

A great night of independent singer/songwriter guitar playing at Mr Kyps

Mr Kyps is always a great place to play; after playing there on a regular basis to some enthusiastic audiences, I consider it my musical home.

Derrin Nauendorf is a great guitarist and endorsed by Yamaha guitars. Blues Matters magazine calls Derrin “Simply Spellbinding”.

We have shared a stage on many occasions. I really enjoy how his songwriting is developing. We have a different approach to writing songs and even to playing guitar and our guitars of choice but we share a lot of similar philosophies on life and that’s what song writing is about.

An Australian native, Derrin, is more  of a roots-based blues musician and I am still trying to determine which genre I can be categorised by; some say roots-based folk, some say sparse, one friend, who invited me to play at the RSA, called my sound ‘music stylings’; if I am a ‘Purbeck folk musician’ it is because the lyrics are heartfelt and speak directly to the listener.

The Good Intent, Petersfield | live music Hampshire

January 22nd, 2012

The best place to perform live music in Petersfield is easily ‘The Good Intent’.

The Landlord and owner, Peter Sharman knows his music and supports local musicians by always booking and appreciating accomplished artists and bands on a Sunday evening.

Recent review from Peter at The Good Intent, Petersfield:

Pedro1968 ‎ – 19 Sep 2011

Pete Christie is a sensational solo performer – I have had the pleasure of watching him play live in my pub many times now and Pete generates an amazing atmosphere every time! I would recommend trying to catch him the next time he is playing – you won’t be disapointed!

Pete Christie is playing at The Good Intent on Sunday 22 January 2012 and again on Sunday 11 March 2012

Got a couple of new songs to share with the audience!
