Some fun bands performing at Wickham this year

Quite looking forward to seeing Lindisfarne on Sunday 7 August. The 2016 Wickham festival is a 4-day music event set to take place from the 4th-7th August.

I will be on the Acoustic Stage around 5.40. on Sunday.

You can listen to some interviews from 2015 on Wickham Festival audioboom.

A family friendly festival, it features artists of varying styles, across three stages. Wickham Festival takes place annually in the village of Wickham, Hampshire and is always good fun. The 2015 Wickham Festival was named Best Festival (Cap. under 15,000) at the Live UK Music Business Awards…glad I was there!

I knew Wickham Music Festival would be fun

Very Pleased!

Seems my multi-skilling worked: #musician, MC, bouncer, audience directions, roadie, sound, PR, sweeper, babysitter…good fun!

Karen Laird did a great job organising so many local talented musicians to play…and we all got paid! Lovely Wimborne Minster Folk Festival

Opening the Bankes Arms Beer and Music Festival in Studland

August 9th, 2013

Isle of Purbeck Musician at an Isle of Purbeck Beer and Music Festival

Isle of Purbeck Musician at an Isle of Purbeck Beer and Music Festival

I’m always glad to be back again at the Bankes Arms FestivalThere will be plenty of good party music from Jim Etherington, Blind Lemon Gliders, Chill and others, throughout the weekend.

I’m the opening performer at the Festival at 6.30 on Thursday and then playing again on Saturday from 4pm to 6pm.  Taking the Avalon guitar with me this time and try out some new singer songwriter material!

Bankes Arms Studland Festival is on for 4 days; Thursday August 8th to Sunday 11th, 11am to 11pm

This is the pub’s 18th annual beer festival; it is free entrance and a very dog and children friendly festival.

In association with the Isle of Purbeck Brewery the festival features over 80 barrels of 200 quality cask-conditioned real ales and ciders.  The festival is hugely popular and a definite date in the beer-lover’s diary and is considered to be one of the best beer festivals in Dorset and the UK. The Live music is certainly very live and usually gets people dancing and singing along throughout the weekend. There is everything from Rock bands, acoustic, soul, Funk etc.

The Bankes Arms in Studland is an award-winning Dorset 15thC smugglers’ county inn, set in Studland overlooking the beautiful Purbeck coast, on top of the Studland Cliffs overlooking Old Harry Rocks.

Loads of cyclists and motorists come over from Poole and Bournemouth by crossing the opening to Poole Harbour using the chain ferry at Sandbanks and travelling two miles South to Studland, or they take the A35 eastwards from Poole, then travel South along the A351 through Wareham and to Corfe, taking the B3351 at Corfe Castle to Studland.

UK Roots Movement Singer Songwriters at Folk On The Quay

June 20th, 2013

Part of UK Roots Movement – Pete Christie, Alex Roberts and Andy Grant are performing together as the Headline act at Harbour Lounge, part of the ‘Folk On The Quay’ festival

Folk On The Quay 2013 will be at various locations along Poole Quay, in Dorset, on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th June 2013

Pete Christie, Alex Roberts and Andy Grant will be participating in this music festival at 9pm Saturday 29 June 2013. Pete Christie was asked to host and headline the Harbour Lounge event and thought what great fun it would be again to get fellow UK Roots Movement musicians; Alex Roberts and Andy Grant to along also; there will be plenty of fingerstyle guitar technique, guitars and singer songwriter folk and roots material that night!

This is a new festival brought together by Poole Tourism and Folk Dorset; Paul Burke and Catherine Burke, both of which are accomplished musicians and event organisers, who run the famous Bournemouth Folk Club and more recently started putting on the beautiful Purbeck Folk Festival. Pete Christie will be playing again this year at Purbeck Folk Festival on Saturday, August 24th, on the  Fire Stage, at 10pm.

Poole’s Folk On The Quay festival is a FREE event with top folk acts, world music and dancing. What a great location with fantastic views over the harbour!

The Saturday evening will have a street concert and 3 stages, ceilidh dances and lots of other attractions through the weekend with local pub landlords also hosting music along the Quay.
