Pete Christie is always happy to play his songs when his audience requests them; so when MJ Patterson requested ‘Nomal Shade of Blue’ on Pete’s Facebook page, Pete was happy to oblige. However, MJ was in North America, so they had to set up a transatlantic session at the Live Music gig in Dorset.

You can find the song lyrics to ‘Normal Shade Of Blue’ below.
Pete Christie was playing the first live music gig at The Parkstone Pub, Poole, Dorset, which is under new management with Tammy and her Team. After a 3 hour set plus encores, Pete and other musician friends went back for a jam session.
Gives a whole new meaning to being a session musician. Can’t have too much of a good thing!

A big shout of thanks out to the amazing Pete Christie who played a transatlantic gig this evening all the way to Halifax Nova Scotia and to Al BikerWeasel for making it possible. xxx
Pete calls his British style of music ‘Anglicana’, others call it Acoustic Folk and Roots.
Song Lyrics to ‘Normal Shade of Blue’ by British singer songwriter, acoustic fingerstyle guitarist, Pete Christie.
I’m standing in a bar in downtown Nowhere
Staring at a girl I thought was you
When she turned her head, she was someone else instead
And I went back to living in my normal shade of blue
So I shared some conversation with the barman
Just to see what he might have to say
Then we drank a toast, to the things we miss the most
Always seems to be the ones we let slip away
Then I think of you, like I always do
Though you’re out of sight
Are you safe and warm, lying in somebody’s arms
Or are you missing me tonight
I’m drinking coffee-flavoured water in a service station
2 am, and I’ve got a hundred miles to go
You can only get so far, with a suitcase and guitar
Seems the more I understand, the less I really know
So I think of you, like I always do
Though you’re out of sight
Are you safe and warm, lying in somebody’s arms
Or are you missing me tonight
I’ll keep holding on, it’s all that I can do
Till all hope has gone, I’ll still hold on to you
So I guess I’d better get my act together
And get out here and try and sing some songs
Down from off the fence, back in present tense
Still trying to figure out, where it all went wrong
So I think of you, like I always do
Though you’re out of sight
Are you safe and warm, lying in somebody’s arms
Or are you missing me tonight
I think of you, like I always do
You know you’d be all right
You’d be safe and warm, if you were lying in my arms
Never have to face another lonely night.
